Charlie was born August 26, 1926 in Amarillo, Texas to Delbert and Florence Pinkley, she was the third of 5 daughters. She attended Amarillo High School. She met and married the love of her life, Dee Lemaster, Jr. after he returned from a tour in duty in the Army during WWII. Dee went to be with the Lord Aril 7, 2006 and Charlie is now with him “strolling hand in hand.” They were married for 60 years. Charlie was known for her love of life. She loved being with people and shared her gift for cooking with everyone. Charlie always had homemade chocolate chip cookies to offer guests. While living at Lake Tanglewood, she would send bags of the cookies with Dee to the golf course for him to share with his golfing buddies. She made pies, cakes, cookies, fried chicken, biscuits and gravy, and many other great dishes without measuring anything. Cooking was her hobby and she always shared whatever she made. She was famous for her delicious pecan pies that she willing shared with everyone. Charlie was the best “greeter” at the lake. She always introduced herself to the new people moving in and made them feel welcome. Charlie was a member of Lake Tanglewood Community Church, and past member of the Lake Tanglewood Arts and Crafts, Lake Tanglewood Golf Association, a volunteer for numerous fundraisers and various activities at Lake Tanglewood. Her last years were spent at Canyonview Retirement Center where she made many friends, played hours and hours of card games and was known as the “nice lady with a big heart” and made all the new people feel welcome. She will be missed by all that knew her.
