FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 14th the AmarilloSouth Church, 6901 South Bell.  Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery.Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.Cheryl passed away on September 11, 2010 surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with breast cancer.Cheryl was born on August 8, 1967 in Amarillo to her parents Bill and Betty Frey.  She graduated from Tascosa High School in 1985.  For the past eleven years, she was employed at IV Solutions, a division of Maxor Pharmacy, as patient care coordinator.  She adored her patients, caring for each and every one of them.Cheryl had a way of lighting up the room when she walked in, her smile could warm the coldest heart and her  enormous enthusiasm for life was shadowed only by the love and devotion she had for her two sons, Tyler and Brandan.   Her world revolved around her boys, supporting them in every scholastic and sporting event she possible could.  The happiest moments of her life, were those she spent with her sons.Cheryl was loved by all that knew her; she had a compassionate nature and would lend a hand to anyone in need.  She was a blessing to her family and all that knew her.  She will be deeply missed.The family will receive visitors at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 until 7:30 PM.Cheryl is lovingly survived by her two sons, Tyler and Brandan Porter of Amarillo; her parents Bill and Betty Frey of Amarillo; two sisters, Sissy Ford and her husband Bill of Weatherford, TX and Tonya Frey of Amarillo; three brothers, Jimmy Frey and wife Sally of Corpus Christi, John Frey and wife Blanca of Amarillo, and Billy Frey and wife Melissa of Elgin, TX; friend and companion, Paul Altman of California;  many additional family members and friends; and not to forget her faithful canine companions, Jack, Jessie and Tank. In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a Cheryl Porter Benefit Fund at any Amarillo National Bank or donations can be made to the local chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Greater Amarillo Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure©P.O. Box 50610 Amarillo, Texas 79159.
