Christabal ‘Chris” Galvan, age 65, of Amarillo, entered into heaven on June 25, 2023, in Amarillo.
Public viewing will be on Thursday, June 29, 2023, from 12:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia. The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Southwest Church of Christ. The Rev. Greg Corona of Hillside Christian Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Llano Cemetery.
Chris was born on November 25, 1957, in Dumas to his parents, Demetrio and Andrea Galvan. He worked in retail throughout his life.
At an early age, Chris experienced a health crisis and was told his time was limited. Although he was taken from this life entirely too soon, he outlived every prediction given to him. Not only that, he lived each day knowing how precious life was, and he enjoyed every single moment. He never took anything for granted and was a very generous man. He believed in second chances because he was given one. He believed in family and the bond of friendships.
Chris loved to be outside, bbq-ing, and listening to music. He also was a pretty suave dancer. Some of his favorite times were spent at Sunday dinners surrounded by the family he cherished. He will be forever loved and missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Susie Franco; and his brothers, Richard, George, and Michael Galvan.
Chris is survived by his daughter, Maria Jaramillo and her husband, Tim; a son, Ralph Galvan; two brothers, Frank and Junior Galvan; four precious grandchildren, Alexis Castillo, Annalyhia Jaramillo; Isaiah Jaramillo, and Audrina Jaramillo; and one great-grandchild, November Castillo.
