Clarence Leonard Baker, 92, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013 in Amarillo, Texas.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 9, in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Amarillo, with the Rev. Corky Holland officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia, Amarillo, Texas.
Clarence was born July 22, 1920 in Clayton, New Mexico to Clarence Grover and Anna Dell (Wagner) Baker, who were ranchers in the Clayton region. Clarence had two brothers, Billy Bryan and Joe Bob. He was married to Mildred Christine McKee on June 23, 1946 in Clayton. He and “Millie” then moved to Kent, Washington where Clarence was employed by Boeing Aircraft until the time of his retirement with 30 years of service. They returned to Clayton, purchased and operated the Clayton Package Liquor Store, which they eventually sold before moving to Amarillo.
Clarence was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Millie; a brother, Bill; and his parents.
Survivors include his brother, Job Bob and wife, Pat of Amarillo and their children, Joe Pat, Kerri Lynne and Michael Everett; and Bill’s children, Bill, Jr., Diana, Randy, Kathy, and Hollye.
The family would like to express their thanks to the BSA Hospice staff for their care and concern for Clarence.
