Cleo Franklin Nix, age 102 of Groom died September 14, 2014 in McLean.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 17th at 10:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church, Groom Texas, with  Rev. T. Todd Dyess  officiating.  Burial will be in the Groom Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Cleo was born August 7, 1912 six miles North of Groom to Ben Franklin and Minnie Katie Schaffer Franklin.  When she was two years old her family moved into Groom and never lived any place else until she was one hundred years old.  Due to losing her eye sight she moved to McLean Care Center.
Cleo graduated from Groom High School in 1930.  She married Ross Nix of Shamrock in 1932.  They celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary on November 11, 1982.
Cleo was a homemaker who loved to sew, paint, crochet and do crafts.  She worked at several businesses in Groom.
Viewing will be from 9:00 AM to service time on Wednesday at the United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ross; three sisters, Irene Smith, Virginia Vance and Hazel Butler; and three brothers, Willard, Orville and Perry Franklin.
Cleo is survived by a daughter Darlene Jones and her husband Bobby of Groom; three granddaughters, Gwyn Bagot and her husband Robert of Amarillo, Sharon Jones of Groom and Andrea Walling and her husband Jerry of Pampa; ten great grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the United Methodist Church of Groom, PO Box 489 Groom, Texas 79039
