Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 25, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at Valleyview Nazarene Church. Private burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.Cletis Imel was born on August 10, 1927 in Wirt, Oklahoma to Arthur and Lillie Imel. He graduated from White Deer High School and then attended West Texas State University. He was a long time member of Valleyview Nazarene receiving the Distinguished Service award and involved in a number of activities which included Sunday School Superintendant, Senior Adult Leader, Youth Director, and Church Board. He received the AISD Bob Ashworth Award and founded the Nazarene slow pitch softball league in Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters.Survivors include his wife, Rosalie; son, Jerry Imel and wife Bobbi; daughter, Connie Whitehead and husband Richard all of Amarillo; grandchildren, Chris Imel and wife Sarah; Kendra McLaughlin and husband Heath; and great grandchildren, Sawyer and Tucker.The family request memorials be made to Hope Music Ministry, c/o Valleyview Nazarene, 7601 S Western, Amarillo, Tx 79110 or to the Harrington Cancer Center, 1500 Wallace Blvd, Amarillo, Tx 79106.
