Clifford Griffin, age 87 of Amarillo entered the gates of Heaven on Saturday, March 12, 2022 in Amarillo.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel. Interment will follow at Llano Cemetery with Military Honors provided by Volleys for Veterans. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Clifford was born June 8, 1934 in Amarillo to his parents, Charles Anderson and Halie Bell Hall Griffin. He was a 1954 graduate of Amarillo High School. After graduation he immediately enlisted in the US Marine Corp and proudly served his country from 1954 until 1958.
On January 1, 1960 he married his love, Vera Williams and the couple would begin a journey that would span over the next sixty two years. Clifford had his own countertop business for many years. He was a cowboy at heart and loved listening to bluegrass music. He also enjoyed fishing at Lake Greenbelt and Lake Meredith. He attended Chaparral Hills Baptist Church.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother, Dickey Griffin.
He is survived by his wife, Vera of the home; his daughter Linda Freis and her husband Scott of Dallas; two sisters, Betty Foster and her husband Buddy of Virginia and Mary Kuykendoll of Missouri; a brother, Teddy Griffin of Virginia; and by two grandchildren, Samantha and Nicholas Freis.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Thomas E. Creek Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center 6010 Amarillo Boulevard, West Amarillo, TX 79106-1991
