Clinten Robert Spaulding 85 of Amarillo, died Monday, December 19, 2016.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, December 23, 2016 at St. Stephen United Methodist Church with Dr. Stan Cosby officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Clinten was born April 2, 1931 in Buchanan, Michigan to Clayten and Rosabelle Spaulding. He graduated from WT with his masters. Clinten served in Chaplain Services for the US Airforce for twenty years.
Clinten met the love of his life June Myrick on a $5.00 bet. They were married in November of 1950 in Gulfport, Mississippi. Clinten and June recently celebrated 66 years together.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sonia Kelly.
Clinten is survived by his wife, June; his children, Gregg Spaulding and wife Bonnie of Houston, Texas, Randy Spaulding and wife Linda of Amarillo, Texas and Neena Scharmer and husband Ward of Denver, Colorado; a sister, Shirley Benham and husband James of Louisville, Kentucky; two brothers, Nolan Spaulding and wife Virginia of Niles, Michigan and Melvern Spaulding and wife Sandy of Statesville, North Carolina; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren and numerous family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Amarillo Senior Citizens Association, 1217 S Tyler St, Amarillo TX 79101
