Clyde Winders, 86, of Amarillo died December 19, 2018.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 21, 2018 at Arden Road Baptist Church, 6701 Arden Rd. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.
Clyde was born August 28, 1932 in House, NM to Theodore and Eleanor Winders. He worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Company as a Lineman for 30 years. Clyde then moved to Broken Bow, OK where he worked for Pine Telephone Company from 1982-1994.
After retirement in 2006, Clyde moved to Amarillo where he met Mary Lou Ivy. Together, they were married on October 9, 2009 and were members of Arden Road Baptist Church.
Clyde enjoyed reading the bible, wood carving and loved fishing in Creede, CO. He was selfless and always put others first.
He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Dorothy; daughter. Terry Martinez; step-daughters, Diane Finley and Donna Stewart; brother, Ray Winders; and niece, Amy Lee.
Clyde is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Ivy Winders; daughter, Elaine Moya and husband Frank of Albuquerque, NM; daughter in law, Esmeralda Ivy of Amarillo, TX; stepsons, Jerry Ivy and Billy Ivy and wife, Joanie both of Amarillo, TX; son in law, George Finley of Broken Bow, OK; brother, Larry Winders and wife Naomi; and numerous grandchildren.
