Constance Ditto

Constance A. Ditto, 80, of Amarillo died, Monday, June 22, 2015.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 4100 S. Coulter, Amarillo, TX, at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 26, 2015.  The celebrant will be Rev. John Valdez.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Constance was born January 10, 1935 in Philadelphia, PA to Catherine and Edwin J. Bonner, Sr.  She graduated from John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls High School in 1952.  She enlisted in the US Air Force in 1953 and was stationed in Omaha, NE where she met and married her husband, William D. Ditto, on July 28, 1956.  They moved to Amarillo where Constance graduated from West Texas State University with a Master’s degree in Elementary Education.  Constance was a teacher in the Amarillo Independent School District, was an editor at the Amarillo Globe News, held several positions within Potter County and retired in 2001.  She was an active member in the League of Women Voters of Texas.
Constance is survived by her husband; daughters Nancy Ann Ditto of Edmond, OK and Patricia M. Ditto of Dallas, TX; grandchildren Jonathan Gage and Jason Gage of Oklahoma City, OK, and John Edward Gage, Rachel Hartman Perry and Mark Hartman of Dallas, TX; brothers Edwin J. Bonner of Tampa, FL, John F. Bonner of Gibsonia, PA, and Thomas J. Bonner of New York City, NY, and sister, Mary A. Craig of Whitehall, PA.; brother-in law Lynn R. Ditto, and wife, Deborah, of Amarillo, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St., Amarillo, TX.
In lieu of flowers, feel free to make a donation in memory of Constance to St. Joseph’s Indian School, P.O. Box 300, Chamberlain, SD 57325-0300.
