A proud veteran, Dana served in the 82nd Airborne Division during the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1969. His courage and commitment to his fellow soldiers exemplified the patriotism that guided him throughout his life. Dana was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, married to the love of his life, Sandra Sue Rau, for 57 years. A passionate outdoorsman, he found solace and joy fishing, hunting, and spending many days at The Amarillo Gun Club where he not only participated in the shooting sports, but also dedicated countless hours organizing leagues, lending a helping hand on various improvement projects, and serving on the board for many years. His friendships and contributions to the club and the broader community will not be forgotten.

Dana is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Marvel Johnson, and his sister, Jenise Schultz. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandi; his son, Chris Johnson (Libby); his daughter, Kelly Webb (James); and his four cherished grandchildren, Matthew Webb, Macauley Webb, Callie Johnson, and Cole Johnson. He is also survived by his brother, Jeff Johnson, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will miss him dearly.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dana’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project (Wounded Warrior Project) or the 82nd Airborne Association (82nd Airborne Association), two organizations that were close to his heart.
