Dannie M. Stover, 82, of Amarillo died April 29, 2018.

A visitation will be held from 6-7:00 p.m., Friday, May 4, 2018 at Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.

Dannie was born October 2, 1935 in Amarillo to Carl Stover and Priscilla Vanskike. He was a graduate of the old Amarillo High School. He married Patricia Ann Clay on March 3, 1957 in Amarillo.

Dannie proudly served 22 years in the United States Navy during Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was Honorably Discharged as E7 Chief Petty Officer on August 9, 1976 in San Diego, CA. He worked as a Journeyman Carpenter and was a Plant Repairman for the Bureau of Mines. Dannie was also a lifetime member of the United Steel Workers. He retired from Department Interior at Amarillo Helium Plant. In his later years, he worked as a courtesy driver for Gene Messer Ford. Dannie was also a member of Washington Avenue Christian Church. He enjoyed making jewelry, going to craft shows, working with exotic hardwoods and traveling.

He is preceded in death by his dear wife, Patricia “Patsy” Ann Stover; parents, Carl and Priscilla Stover; and 2 sisters, Linda Sconce and Judy Galusha.

Dannie is survived by his 2 daughters, Cheryl Stover of Amarillo, TX and Carla Stover of Gatesville, TX; son, Christopher Stover and wife Colleen of Amarillo, TX; and 6 grandchildren, Chelsea Miller of Martinsburg, WV, Mitchell Miller and Marshall Miller both of Colorado Springs, CO, Paige Miller, Caitlin Stover and Holly Stover, all of Amarillo; two great-granddaughters, Delaney Webb and Chloe Gonzales, and one great-grandson on the way, Jaxton Stover.

The family would like to thank the staff at the VA as well as close family friends, Joe and Claudin Ponder and Josh and Misty Branscum for their loving care and friendship.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch, 600 S.W. 11th Ave, Amarillo Texas 79101.
