Danny Johnson, age 74, died Saturday, December 17, 2011.
Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 21 at St. Mary’s Cathedral with Msgr. Harold Waldow officiating. Dan was born on July 25, 1937 in Pampa, TX to Owen Johnson and Edna Cleo Oswalt Johnson. Mr. Johnson proudly served in the US Navy from November 1956 to November 1960 onboard the USS Frontier AD-25. He married Elvira Baltierra on September 19, 1981. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Cathedral. Dan worked for the City of Amarillo in the Amarillo Police Department from January 1985 until his retirement as a Supervisor over the City Jail in January 2001. He was a member of America Supports You Texas and served as Vice-President of the Board of Directors.
Preceded in death: Parents and one brother, Neil Johnson.
Survivors are his spouse, Elvira; one daughter, Lynsie; and two sons; one sister, Clo Ann Bynum; two nephews, Mike Kerr and Rick Kerr, one niece, Ginger Lewis.
