David Marcus Bay, 64, of Amarillo died March 16, 2022.
Memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 21, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Cathedral, 1200 S. Washington St. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.
David was the second child of six to William Richard and Jean Bay on July 17, 1957 in Amarillo. After high school, he served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany as a medic. David earned an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Respiratory Therapy from Amarillo College. He worked as a Respiratory Therapist at NWTH, then several years as a traveling therapist. For the past two years, he served tirelessly working with COVID patients at BSA hospital. He was our hero.
David volunteered at St. Mary’s Catholic Cathedral in several capacities with dedication and generously supported many local charities. He was a loving son, brother, and uncle to his family.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to St. Mary’s Catholic Cathedral, 1200 S. Washington St., Amarillo, TX 79102 or Project Emmanuel and Disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, PO Box 64, Prayer Town, TX 79010.
David is survived by his father, William Richard Bay; sisters, Nora Shirley and Mary Nell Hunt and her husband, Kraig; brothers, Christopher Gordon Bay and his wife, Cindy and William Casey Bay; and numerous nieces and nephews.
