David Lloyd Vandiver, age 57, of Plainview, Texas, formerly of Dalhart, TX and Edgeley, ND, died April 19, 2011 in Amarillo.Funeral Service will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday April 22, 2011 in Brentwood Chapel, Schooler Funeral Home, with Randy Kleinsasser officiating. Graveside will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday April 22, 2011 in Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart, Texas. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home today from 6 to 7 PM.David was born October 2, 1953 in Dalhart, Texas to Lloyd Lee Vandiver and Madeline Vandiver Herrmann. He was raised and attended school in Dalhart. He married Sonja Sakshaug in 1992. He resided in North Dakota for 32 years, working in the oilfields, operating David’s Tree Service, remodeling houses and founding an outreach ministry called New Life-New Hope Ministry. His passion was for Christ Jesus and spreading the Good News. Most recently David moved “home” to Texas, settling in Plainview.He is preceded in death by his father Lloyd Lee Vandiver; and his grandparents Roy and Viola Vandiver, Clyde and Viola Ames.Survivors include his wife Sonja Vandiver; his children, Jocelyn Braun and JR Allard of Denver, CO; his mother Madeline Herrmann and husband J.B of Amarillo; grandchildren, Brooks and Donavin Rosendahl, Brycen Braun and Mylah and Angelina Allard, all of Denver CO; his siblings include, Carol Robinson and husband Larry of Amarillo, Vicki Coslett and husband Jimmy of Kingfisher, OK; Judy Blevins and husband Mike of Amarillo; Jacqueline Chesser and husband Cap of Denison, Texas.
