Dawn (Ann Daniels) Mora
July 28, 1941 – June 9, 2021
The soul of Dawn Mora rose into heaven on June 9th as the sun crossed the noon day sky. Her legacy is the light.
A notably beautiful and talented woman with hundreds of important credits to her name, she grew up in Palm Springs, California, with her mother “Honey,” a teacher at Cahuilla Elementary School, and brother, artist Bill Arms. She graduated from Palm Springs High School and from San Diego State with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Theatre.
Her professional acting credits include “Island of the Blue Dolphin” for Universal Studios and “Play it Again Sam” for the San Diego Shakespeare Festival. She married Attorney Ron Mora in 1971 and moved to Chicago where she began teaching at Northwestern University in 1983. She was recently honored with the status of Professor Emeritus for her prized and distinguished service.
She is survived by her dearly loved son Abraham Mora, grandson Alex Mora, granddaughter Ari Mora, brother William (Bill Daniels) Arms, nephew Marc Segal, stepson Peter Mora, stepdaughter Katherine Mora and her beloved puppy Coco.
Burial will be private at the Palm Springs Cemetery and in lieu of flowers she asked that donations go the Palm Springs Theatre Company.
