Deane Dixon, 72, of Amarillo, died Thursday evening, September 9, at 11:25 p.m. surrounded by his loving family, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.Rosary Services will be Sunday, at 6:00 p.m. at Brentwood Chapel, Schooler Funeral Home.  Local arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.Funeral services will be in Campus, Illinois next week with arrangements by Hagar Funeral Home of Dwight, Illinois.Deane was born January 16, 1938, in Campus, IL.He is survived by his wife, Julia Dixon; a daughter, Tracy Trewartha of Illinois; a son, Michael D. Dixon and wife, Margo of California; and a stepson, Steven Rupp and wife, Jennifer of Anaheim, California.Other survivors include three brothers, Richard Dixon and wife Beverly of Joliet, Illinois; Robert Dixon and wife Jane of Dwight, Illinois; and Joe Dixon of Wisconsin; a brother-in-law, Kenneth McKnight and wife Carole of Amarillo.  Four grandchildren, Erin, Ryan, Chloe, and Quinn and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins also survive him.Visitation will be held at Schooler Funeral Home on Saturday, September 11, from 6:00-7:30 p.m.
