Deborah "Deb" Kimberley Lindmark. 66, peacefully slipped the bonds of this earth on Monday, October 20, 2014.
Born November 29, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa, she grew up in Maxwell, Iowa and graduated in1966. At the end of most school years, it was off to her family's fishing resort in Ontario, Canada. It was here that she spent her childhood creating beautiful and lasting summertime memories'. That love for the rugged beauty of Canada continued well into adulthood, as she loved to visit her brother Mark and his wife, Iris' cabin in the summers on the lake of Sioux Narrows, Ontario.
In 1972, she was wed to Larry Lindmark and moved to Dalhart, TX. They came here to raise cattle and, in the process, became true Texans! While in Dalhart, she gave birth to the greatest treasures of her life, her daughter, Angie and her son, Jeff. Deb was widowed young, in 1979. Yet, she remained a rock for her children, settled again in Amarillo and remained there for the rest of her life.
In 1987 Deb met Coleman Taylor, M.D. and from that day until her last, they were one heart and one spirit, bonded in unconditional love and an unwavering devotion to one another. They traveled the world and always had a good time. She loved to play golf and could do just about anything you asked of her. Deb could only be described as a true renaissance woman!
She was a skilled seamstress, having made Cotton Palace dresses for the Duchesses in Waco. This was done from little more than a sketch of the dress and boxes of fabric and jewels. Many of the dresses are still displayed in the Panhandle Plains Historical Museum in Canyon, Texas to this day. IF you have the time, do yourself a favor and go take a peek at them! This will give you at least a small glimpse into the passionate soul and creative spirit that was Deb. She worked at Coleman's office for many years as well. She was a member of St. Stephen UMC, where she sang in the choir and directed children's choirs.
In most recent years, all of life was put into perspective as she discovered the joy and pure love of grandchildren. She has three amazing little girls up in Yukon, OK who she doted on as every grandmother should and loved more than perhaps most other grandmothers could. Her passion was her grandchildren. She would visit for weeks at a time to help them out and watch them do competitive cheerleading. She would go to their practices and their competitions. When Deb was at home in Amarillo, they would call her every night and give her all the details!
While devoted and loving to all her family and friends, Deb was a private individual and it was her wish that no type of funeral or memorial service be held. She made us promise to have a dinner party and celebrate her since she loved throwing parties. We will let the little girls do something special. Her wishes were that her 3 little girls to continue Pursuing the competitive cheerleading competitions which they love so much. THEREFORE: ***We are asking in lieu of flowers, that you
give to the girls cheer future. We have set up a special account for the girls at Amarillo National Bank, Georgia Street location, c/o Angie Waddell.
