Deborah “Debbie” Lynn (Pontuff) Morales

Debbie Morales passed away January 3rd at Northwest Texas Hospital. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 7, 2015 at Mescalero Baptist Church. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.

Debbie was born January 28th, 1952 in Rockdale, Texas to Clarence and Mary Pontruff.  She married Richard Lee Morales Sr. October 2, 1971. She had a varied career in medical billing and childcare, even starting a couple of successful businesses. She was a very loving and religious woman, a doting mother and grandmother and a best friend to anyone in need.

Debbie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Morales Sr.; her parents, Clarence Pontruff and Mary Cryer Pontruff; and her brother, George Pontruff.

Debbie is survived by her children, Darlene Peña and her husband David Peña, Richard Morales Jr. and his wife Kristen Morales, Trace Morales, and Cara Morales; grandchildren, Mathew Peña, Aaron Peña, Guy Morales, Drake Morales, Avery Morales, and Trevor Morales; niece, Melinda Pontruff and her daughters Lorelei and Layla; sister, Anna Templin and her family, Clarence Pontruff Jr. and his family, and Benny Pontruff and his family; father in law, Humberto Morales; sister in law, Tillie Nix and her family; brother in law Herb Morales Jr.; brother in law John Paul Morales; as well as countless friends whom she loved as if they were family.


The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 P.M. Wednesday at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia Amarillo, Texas 79110.
