Dede Rochelle Brown, age 53 of Amarillo died August 31, 2015.
Funeral service will be on 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Temple of Praise Community Church, 1900 Amarillo Boulevard West. Entombment will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Dede was born August 10, 1962 in Ft. Worth. Her family moved to Denver, where they lived until 1977, when they moved to Amarillo. She graduated from Amarillo High in 1981. She also attended Amarillo Colllege. She married John Brown in Amarillo on July 2, 1994. Dede worked as a bookkeeper for Potter County for 26 years. When John became pastor of Temple of Praise Community Church, she became the First Lady of the church. She also served as the church organist and was on the praise team. Dede was also a big Denver Broncos fan.
She was preceded in death by her father, Horace Stacey II.
Dede is survived by her husband, John; three daughters, Kristie Taylor and husband, Thomas of Denver, Marquito Brown and fiancé, Travis Craig of Terrell, Deziree Brown of Amarillo; one son, Christopher Brown of Amarillo; her mother, Billie Stacey; one sister, Stephanie Michaels of Amarillo; one brother, Horace Stacey III of Amarillo; and 6 grandchildren.
A visitation will be 7:00-9:00, today, at Temple of Praise Community Church.
