Delbert Lynn Black, 55, of Amarillo passed peacefully in his home Monday the 18th of July, following his battle with cancer.
Delbert was born January 28, 1961 to Donnie and Dorris Black. He was born and raised in Groom, Texas. After graduating from Amarillo High School in 1979, he began working for Owens Corning where he had worked faithfully for 29 years.
Delbert was the most loving and caring husband, father, son, papa, brother and uncle. He loved being outdoors, loved to fish, shoot, camp and spend time with his family. He will be missed by many.
Delbert leaves behind his wife of 28 years, Barbara Jean Black; their children, Angel, Arlie, Brandie and Angie; 2 sisters, Dorrane and Donya; 8 grandchildren and many close relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Schooler Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 22, 2016 at Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel of Amarillo with Rev. Mark Phillips officiating. Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday in Groom Cemetery of Groom, Texas. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia, Amarillo, Texas 79109.
