Deloris was born Feb. 8, 1934, in Oklahoma to Richard and Rose Pound. She met Elliott M. "Mr. Ed" Bailey, and they married on April 29, 1951, in Oklahoma City. She helped Elliott with Bailey Printing in Friona for 15 years. They owned the McLean News from 1965 to 1977 prior to moving to Friona. She was superb with arts, crafts and quilting. She donated much of her craft work to charitable organizations.
She was preceded in death by her husband, "Mr. Ed," on May 9, 2008; and a brother-in-law, Roy Bailey, on May 29, 2009.
Survivors include four daughters, Denise Hill and husband Ben of Amarillo, Kathy Southerland of Paradise, Patsy Bailey of McLean and Carolyn Nelson and husband Dan of Fort Worth; two sons, Matthew Bailey of Amarillo and Mark Bailey of McLean; 15 grandchildren, Valerie Shortridge, Jennifer Farmer, Alicia Hill, David Hill, Allen Bailey, Misti Beall, Kristi Sexton, Bradley Southerland, Chad Southerland, Shelley Kemp, Sara Gorlick, John Nelson, Veronica Fite, Terrance Fite and Erin Hicks; and 22 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
