Mrs. Tackett was born in Clinton, Oklahoma, on March 6, 1933 to George H. and Bertha C. Miller.Delpha moved to Amarillo in 1947 from Clinton. She was a long time member of Paramount TerraceChristian Church and an employee of Pantex for over 25 years. Delpha was very active in the communityand actively volunteered at Harrington Cancer Center and St. Anthony's Hospital Nursery. She also wasinvolved in the adult literacy program and an AISD Reading Mentor. Delpha was also a member of theRed Hat Society. She always led a Christian life and shared those virtues with all she came into contactwith:Delpha was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.She is lovingly survived by her husband, John; three daughters: Sharon McKinney Jones and her husbandRandy of Amarillo, Susan McKinney Hicks and husband Thom of Canyon, and Sandra McKinney Dean andher husband Don of Amarillo; a sister Verna P. McFeeley of Oklahoma City, OK. Step-Children KennethTackett, Michael and Joni Tackett, Amy and Duane Smith, Sue and David Hawley, Reba Moore and JudyWiseman. 19 Grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.The family suggest memorials be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center Patient Housing , 1515 Holcombe Houston, Texas 77030;, or the Harrington Cancer Center 1500 Wallace BLVD, Amarillo, Texas 79106.
