Derald Meador, age 80 of Amarillo, Texas died January 16, 2015 in Amarillo.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 19 at 2:00 PM at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel.  Pastor Glen Switzer of Lamount Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Derald was born in Spur, TX to H.F. and Mattie Ruth Meador on January 31, 1934.  He played football at Texas Tech and at Howard Payne College.  It was at Howard Payne that he met his love, Janice Lohn.  The couple married in Brownwood on June 1, 1956 and has two sons, Jerry and Gerald. They were members of Lamount Baptist Church.
Derald was an innovative thinker, always striving to make improvements to everyday life to restore and support the environment.   Those who knew him called him “The Water Man.”  He was the inventor and developer of Catawater, a revolutionary water product that “renews the earth. “  It was his passion and until his death never stopped improving and promoting the product. In fact, Catawater became the passion of the entire family and close friends. It is currently used in agriculture and livestock industries to promote health and well-being.
The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
Derald was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Janice; his two sons, Jerry and Gerald all of Amarillo; a brother, Adrian Meador of Muleshoe; two half-sisters, Linda and Iris; his niece Charise and his nephew Brian.
