Dolores Audrey Dunham John of Amarillo, died Sunday, May 12, 2013 at the age of 94.
Mrs. John was born in Galveston, Texas on January 25, 1919 to Roy Ernest Dunham and Ruth Alice Monroe Dunham. She graduated from Laramie Wyoming High School in 1935. Dolores married Leslie Christopher John Jr. on September 28 of the same year in Fort Collins, Colorado.
She has lived in Amarillo since 1960. She joined Polk Street United Methodist Church in 1960 and had been active in the Friendship-Gleaners S.S. Class and the United Methodist Women. She and her husband spent many good years helping with the Amarillo Senior Citizens Association when it was just getting started. She taught various art classes, and in the past spent much time painting. Dolores also pursued other volunteer interests over the years and was a homemaker. She possessed a pleasant and positive attitude and was full of smiles for everyone.
She was preceded in death by her husband on November 13, 1989; and both brothers Roy Dunham and Gerald Dunham.
She is survived by a daughter Suzanne John Fuller of Amarillo; two sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and great nephews.
