Don Williams, 74, of Amarillo passed away June 9, 2015.

Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Llano Cemetery with           Pastor Mike Nuthman officiating.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home 4100 S. Georgia St.
Don Williams was born November 10, 1940 in Childress to J. K. and Edna Williams.
He grew up in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High.  After one marriage, in 2004, Don married his high school sweetheart, Ruth Taylor in Irving.  While self-employed in the fabricators industry for over 50 years, he was considered an icon in the industry and a mentor to many. He was contracted with BondCote and MMI He was a past chairman of I.F.A.I. and SWIFA.  Don was not only a member of AMBUCS, he also named and helped build the first AmTryke.  He was also a member of Hillside Christian Church.  Don loved his family dearly and loved spending time with his grandkids and nephews and nieces.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; and a nephew, Robert Duncan.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Christi Newman of Longview; one son, Michael Williams of CA; one step-daughter, Shelly Starnes and husband, Steve of Amarillo; two step-sons, Tim Rea and wife, Wendy of Coal Creek, CO and Todd Taylor and wife, Colleen of Garland; one sister, Jackie Duncan and husband, Ron of Lewisville; one sister-in-law, Yvonne Ward and husband, Leslie of Bedford; one grandchild; five step-grandchildren; and three step-great grandchildren.
The family suggest memorials be made to Hillside Christian Church, 6100 S. Soncy, Amarillo, Texas, 79119.
Visitation will be from 7-8:00 PM today at the funeral home.
