Donald “Fred” Hutton, 39, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012.
Rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, May 27, in St. Mary’s Cathedral Chapel. Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 28, in St. Mary’s Cathedral with Bishop Patrick J. Zurek as celebrant and Msgr. Harold Waldow as concelebrant. Inurnment will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Fred was born December 29, 1972 in St. Louis, Missouri.. He loved racing with his son, Tuff, at Route 66 Speedway and loved to go fast. He was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting. Fred had a talent for bringing people together and hosted the annual 4th of July party for 15 years at his home. Fred was a craftsman with the skill to “fix” anything. He always made people laugh. Family was always first with Fred.
Fred was a member of St. Mary’s Cathedral parish and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Catherine Hulser Stalter “Neenee”.
Survivors include his wife, Christy; five sons, Eric, Joshua, Donald “Tuff” , Drake, and Kaden; his mother, Susan Ashley and husband, Deacon Floyd Ashley, and father, Donald Palmer and wife Laura; grandparents, Msgr. Cal Stalter, Fred and Eldonna Palmer; brothers, John and David Ashley and wife, Shauna; sisters, Jessica Guzman and husband, Enrique, JoLynn Smith and husband, Rick; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and aunts and uncles.
The family suggests memorials be to St. Mary’s Building Fund, 1200 S. Washington, Amarillo, TX 79102.
