Donald Howard Morphis

Donald Howard Morphis, age 78, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2019.

He was born on March 16, 1941 in Pottsville, Arkansas, to Howard and Eunice Morphis. He was the oldest of six children. Don was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Richard and Jerry Mack, sisters, Helen and Mary Joe, and daughter, Nancy.

He is survived by his wife, Carlana, his brother, David, his son, Bradley, and six daughters, Dianna, Audrey, Adriane, Jennifer, Juliana, and Rosanne.

Don, who was also affectionately known as Poppy by his grandchildren, will be remembered as a kind and compassionate person who was a bright light and was always quick to lend a hand to anybody in need or share some stories with over a cup of coffee. He will also be remembered for his quick wit and ability to put a smile on your face.

Don spent his career running his own auto body shop, participating in riding clubs and rodeo events, and going from event to event for his children and grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Schooler Funeral Home from 6-7:00 pm, Friday, July 5, 2019. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 6th, 2019, at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Cathedral, 1200 S. Washington St, Amarillo, TX.
