Donald D. Salmon, 83, of Claude died Monday, January 2, 2017.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 4, 2017 in Claude Cemetery, Claude. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, Armstrong Chapel, 123 2nd St, Claude.
Donald was born October 14, 1933 in Port, OK to Jasper and Opal Salmon. He married Betty Venable on October 16, 1958 in Amarillo. Donald proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1958. Upon returning he went to work for Pantex where he worked for 38 years, while working part time for Hochheim Prairie Insurance.
After retiring, Donald worked as Marshall at Ross Rogers Golf Course.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Donald is survived by his wife, Betty of Claude; his daughters, Sheila Black of Claude and Sandra Shields of Lelia Lake; five grandchildren, Jeffrey, Stacy, Wes, Kelby and Kaylee; and 10 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to High Plains Children’s Home.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM- 12:00 PM Wednesday at Schooler Funeral Home, Armstrong Chapel in Claude.
