Dora Helena Ponder, 79, died Sunday, December 25, 2011.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 30, at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Harrison officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Dora was born in Hughes County, Oklahoma on January 4, 1932, to Edmond and Malisa Ponder. She served her country proudly in the United States Navy and retired from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as a registered nurse.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Raul H. Diaz, Jr.; two sisters and a brother.
Dora is survived by her sister-in-law, Freeda Ponder of Amarillo; nephews Joe Ponder and Albert Ponder of Amarillo; and many additional loving family members and friends.
