Dorella Catherine Satterwhite

August 10, 1933 — January 27, 2012

ROSARY will be at 2pm Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel.

Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 30, 2012 at St. Laurence Catholic Cathedral, with Rev. Ed Sweeney officiating. Arrangements are by are Schooler Funeral Home 4100 South Georgia St.

Dorella was born in Amarillo on August 10, 1933 to Norris and Agnes Wells. She attended St. Mary’s Academy for 12 years. Dorella married Raymond “Gib” Satterwhite on July 27, 1953. She tolerated Gib’s  hobby of collecting Studebakers. Dorella was a member of St. Laurence Catholic Church for 44 years. She was the past president of the Altar Society, and was active in the church in many ways. Everyone knew of her deep faith.  She loved crafting with her best friends in the “Angel’s Club”. She also belonged to several clubs including Antique Car Club, Studebaker Club, Western Cowpunchers and Spring Chickens.  Dorella was an avid reader.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years R.G. “Gib” Satterwhite, daughters, Rae Hartley and husband Kenneth of Amarillo, Gaelyn Mann and husband Clif of Artesia, NM, sons, Dennis Satterwhite and wife Barbara of Lubbock, Timothy Satterwhite and wife Amber of Fritch, Michael Satterwhite and wife Carla of Ames, Iowa, Sister, Annabelle Detten and husband Tom of Amarillo, Brother Ben Wells and wife Donna of Fritch, 13 Grandchildren and 2 and a half great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and many other “extra children” and countless friends.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to St. Ann’s Nursing Home in Panhandle, 125 Saint Ann’s Dr., Panhandle, Texas 79065.
