Doris Fitzpatrick

Mrs. Fitzpatrick was born Doris Elizabeth Thorin on December 28, 1917 in Iron River, Michigan to Victor Thorin and Amy Katherine Shovald Thorin. She married Fritz Fredericksen in April, 1936 in Escanaba, Michigan. Fritz passed away in 1941. Doris married James Fitzpatrick in 1945 and they were married until his passing in 1992.
Mrs. Fitzpatrick worked as an office assistant for Michigan Mental Health Association, retiring after 19 years of service. She was an auxiliary member of BPOE and a member of St. Anne’s Catholic in Escanaba. She was a lifelong resident of Escanaba, Michigan until moving to Amarillo in June 2008. Contract bridge, golfing, and bowling were some of her favorite hobbies.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Doreen Fredericksen-Fitzpatrick in 1957; a son, Barry Fitzpatrick in 1990; and five brothers and one sister.
SURVIVORS: She is survived by her son Kris and wife Glenda, granddaughters Kristie Miller and Jana Briones; grandson Randy Whipple, and great-grandson Riley Miller, all of Amarillo; a sister-in-law Pat Thorin of West Bend, Wisconsin; sister-in-law Lorayn Thorin of Escanaba, Michigan; and numerous nieces and nephews
