Doris Faye Holland

Doris Faye Holland, 86, of Amarillo died July 23, 2020.

Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Arden Road Baptist Church. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.

Doris was born March 20, 1934 in Clovis, NM to Luther and Viola Howard.

Doris is the middle of two sisters, Betty Stout (Deceased) and Joyce and husband Eldon McCormick who live in Bovina TX. Doris married Aubrey Holland on July 3, 1952.

Doris was a beautician for several years in Clovis and when the family moved to Dimmitt in 1971, she worked at First State Bank of Dimmitt 36 plus years and retired in 1998. Doris always enjoyed sewing and making her own clothes and did embroidery after retirement. Aubrey (Bud) and Doris moved from Dimmitt to Amarillo in 1998 and they became members of the Arden Road Baptist Church in Amarillo. While there, Bud and Doris were faithful members until recent illnesses kept them home and even then, they watched the services on-line when possible. After retirement, Bud and Doris spent most summers traveling to Pendaries, NM where they owned land in an RV park.

Doris is survived by her husband, Aubrey (Bud) of Amarillo; sons, Darrell and wife Penny of Amarillo and Mike and wife Christy of Diamond, MO; two grandkids, Cori & husband Chris of Amarillo and Matt & wife Kara of Loveland, CO; 1 great-granddaughter, Caddie & husband Christian; and 2 great-great grandkids, Avagail and Atticus all of Amarillo.
