Doris Myron Davis

Doris Myron Davis, 87, of Amarillo passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021.

Memorial service will be held at a later date. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.

She was born April 9, 1933 in Turkey, TX to Lon and Cecil McKay and nicknamed, (Sap)-The Protector.

In 1950, Doris married Carl Davis in Clovis, NM and in 1954, they moved to Amarillo to begin their 67 year marriage together. Her career began at a family owned diner-gas station. She then joined the bank until she became a full time homemaker. She frequently volunteered her time serving the Lord at the church and with Meals on Wheels. She was a true child of God. Doris had many hobbies including sewing, crafting, camping and baking.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Davis on September 17, 2019; and her siblings, Juanita Lane, Bud McKay, Theresa Gregory, Bonnie Geisler, Gay Sperry, and Gary McKay.

Doris is survived by her son, Scott Davis of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren, Shelbie of Dade City, FL, and Shatt, Rachael, Max and Madelynn of Amarillo, TX; great-grandchildren, Jathan and Mollie of Dade City, FL and Rylan, Lilly, Kai and Dylan of Amarillo, TX; and siblings, Margie Purcell Shorlette of Albuquerque, NM, Dwight McKay of Amarillo, TX, Devorah Justus of Slaton, Renee Dudley, Trent McKay of Quitaque, TX and Gwen Martin of Lubbock, TX.
