Dorothy “Marie” Bohr, 81, of Groom died Wednesday, June 5, 2013, in Claude, Texas.
Rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 7, 2013, in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Groom, Texas. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 8, in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Mieczyslaw Przepiora officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Groom. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Marie was born July 26, 1931 to Leonard and Minnie Bohr. She was a life-long resident of Groom. Marie graduated from Groom High School and went to work at the State National Bank in Groom. After 52 years of dedicated service, she retired in March of 2003. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Groom and a member of Christian Mothers and Altar Society.
Although she never had children of her own, she was blessed with nieces and nephews that became her honorary children, and she loved them very much. Their “Aunt Marie” was a huge part of their lives and upbringing.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Walter Bohr.
Survivors include her brothers, Bill Bohr and wife Linda of Groom and Leon Bohr and wife Mary of Amarillo; seven nieces, eight nephews, 17 great-nieces and nephews; one great-great nephew; and one great-great niece.
