BIOGRAPHY: Dorothy Passons was born on August 30, 1927 in Klondike, Texas to Robert Carl and Ella Robnett Hooten. When very young, they moved to Earth, Texas, where Dorothy attended Springlake School until 1943. They moved to Borger and she completed high school in 1945. After graduation, she married James L. Passons, in January, 1946. They had two daughters, Carla Rose and Waska Jolene who both were born in Borger. They moved to Newcastle, Wyoming in 1952 and both girls graduated from Newcastle High School. Dorothy started working for Mountain Bell Telephone, later transferring to Southwestern Bell in Amarillo, where she worked for 28 ½ years until her retirement in 1988. She was a member of Telephone Pioneers and Sonshiners South Georgia Baptist group.She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 sisters and 2 brothers.SURVIVORS: Husband of 64 years, James L. Passons, daughters Jolene Martinson of Amarillo and Carla Rose Evans of Nashville, TN, a sister, Sibyl Maxwell of Borger, Texas, 4 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren
