Dorothy Schniederjan

Dorothy Schniederjan,  76 of Dalhart  went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 7, 2011.   FUNERAL SERVICES will be on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 2:30 PM at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel.  Rev. Scott Raef will officiate.  Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia. She was born in Gainesville, TX on November 2, 1934 to Ernest and Edna Sluder.  She married the love of her life, Paul Schniederjan, on August 30, 1952 in Gainesville, TX.  They moved to West Texas and began farming in Bushland.  They had 10 children and raised kids and crops together in the Bushland area for 29 years.  In 1981 they moved to Hartley county where they farmed and have lived the last 30 years. Over the 76 years of her beautiful life, she served in many organizations.  She was active in the Bushland booster club, PTA and the Saint Mary's Altar Society.  She was active in any and every club or activity that her children were a part of.  We have no idea how many bake sales she baked for or the number of pies, breads and cinnamon rolls she prepared.  Sending a big birthday wish along with a delicious chocolate chip cookie cake was her special way of putting a smile on her children and grandchildren's face.  In addition to her 10 children, there were always extra friends and she was always prepared to meet everyone's needs.  Dorothy recieved a beautiful gift from her daughter, Paula, in 1998.  A kidney.  The family is forever indebted for an additional 13 years of having Mom (Granny) with us.  Many grandchildren and great grandchildren got to know and love her as a result. The family will receive visitors on Monday evening at the funeral home from 5:30 – 7:30 PM. She was preceeded in death by her son, Danny, her parents, Ernest and Edna, a sister, Kathleen Arnold and a brother, Calvin Sluder.   Dorothy was a loving, caring, strong Christian and we are comforted to know she is rejoicing with the Lord in Heaven.  She is survived by the Love of her life, Paul.  Five sons, Gary, and wife Tammy, of Dalhart.  Jerry, and wife Shellie, of Amarillo.  Larry, and wife Cathy, of Dalhart.  Mark, and wife Melissa, of Dalhart.  James, and wife Patty, of Amarillo.  Four daughters, Peggy, and husband Richard, of Abilene.  Paula, and husband Darrel, of Spring, TX.  Rhonda, and husband Kevin, of Hereford.  and Anna, and husband Joe, of Hereford.  32 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren and more on the way.   A beautiful story, a beautiful life, we love you and we will miss you dearly.
