Dorothy “Dot” Meehan, 88, of Granbury, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2020.
Funeral service is at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 14, 2020 at Schooler Funeral Home. Interment will be in Llano Cemetery.
Dot was born on August 15, 1931 in Loyal, Wisconsin to Arthur and Hilda Hallowell. She married Joseph Meehan in 1952 in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the early 1960’s, Dot moved from Wisconsin to Amarillo, when Joseph was stationed at Amarillo Air Force Base.
Dot owned Meehan’s Personality House, an Italian Food Restaurant for 52 years in Amarillo. She was very proud of getting the required number of signatures to have the 1971 liquor election question put on the ballot.
Dot loved her dogs, (Touché, Ju Lee and Cody), Las Vegas gambling and Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her husband: Joseph Meehan, daughters: Dawn Allen and Diane Meehan Morgan, and siblings: Hazel Anderson, Carol LeBouf, and Raymond Hallowell.
Dot is survived by her daughter Dale Longbine and husband Clyde, grandchildren: Jerald Longbine and wife Christa, Daniel Longbine and wife Amanda, David Longbine and wife Norma, Monica Wittkowski and husband Larry, Rob Savidge, Dean Savidge and wife Brandy, Wendy Walker, Jennifer Jenkins and husband Tommy, Jacob Morgan and Joel Morgan, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and siblings: Arlene Johnson, Frances Cole, Melvin Hallowell (Millie), Donny Hallowell (Norma), and sister-in-law: Wanda Hallowell.
