Dorris Chism

Dorris Chism, age 86 of Amarillo died June 3, 2016
A Memorial services will be held on Monday at 2:00 PM at Southwest Church of Christ.  Mr. Delbert McCloud will officiate.  The interment will be on Tuesday, June 7th,  at 11:00 AM at Quanah Memorial Park in Quanah, Texas.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Dorris was born September 22, 1929 to Johnny Eskell and Ellen Rowena Forrest in Quanah, Texas.  She graduated from Quanah High School.  She married James R. “J.R.” Chism and they were married over fifty four years before his death in 2003.  Dorris was a loving person, devoted to her Lord and cherished her family.  She enjoyed spending time reading her bible daily and was a member of Southwest Church of Christ.
The family will receive guests at the funeral home tonight from 7 PM until 8PM.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.
Dorris is survived by her two sons, Jim Chism and his wife Nannette of Bentonville, AR and Jerry Chism and his wife Kay of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Brian Keith Chism, Brice Kendall Chism, Charity Melisse Chism. Jonathan Chism and Catherine Rea; and ten great-grandchildren.
