Douglas Hale

No formal services will be held at his request, but his friends and family are invited to come pay their respects and celebrate his life at Beef O’Brady’s in Amarillo, on January 8th from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.Inurnment will be at Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.Douglas “Banky” Hale was born in Tampa, FL.   He graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1951.  He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict, retiring from active duty in 1972.  He attended New Mexico State University and earned his bachelor in Accounting and Economics.  He moved to Amarillo in 1983, when he accepted employment with the NCUA retiring in 1995.Douglas was a member of the Khiva Shrine, American Legion, BPO Elks Lodge, VFW Post 1475 and Moose Lodge 1361.He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva in 2007.Survivors include his daughter, Michelle Hale of Amarillo; sister Shirley Hale of Tampa, FL; three brothers, Roy, Ray and Randy Wiley and sister Nancy Perez; in addition to many nieces, nephews and cousins all of Florida.
