Douglas Nelson Perkins, 80 of Amarillo died Tuesday, May 24, 2016.
Memorial Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 27, 2016 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Howard Batson officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Douglas was born December 16, 1935 in Littlefield to Jeff and Mattie Perkins. He graduated from Texas Tech University with his degree in accounting and received his CPA. On February 17, 1956 Doug married the love of his life Jackye Hill in Littlefield. They moved to Amarillo in 1960 where Doug continued his career in accounting. He was the senior partner with Leon L. Hoyt and Company until his retirement. Douglas was a member of First Baptist Church and Tascosa Country Club. He was an avid golfer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Kimberly D’Ann Boozer on June 26, 2015; and his sister Melba Jean Byers.
Douglas is survived by his wife, Jackye; daughters, Dana Hogan and husband Mark of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Sharla Sisemore and husband Trent of Amarillo, Texas; a son-in-law, Robert Boozer of Dimmitt, Texas; a brother, Billie Perkins and wife Joyce of Amarillo, Texas; and his grandchildren, Lauren, Caroline and husband Joey, Lindsey, Danielle, Brock and Colin.
The family will receive friends following the service.
