Dowel Adams, 84, of Amarillo died February 5, 2014.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 22, 2014 in Llano Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Lance Herrington, of Paramount Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Dowel was born November 18, 1929 in Amarillo to A. V. and Etha Adams. He was a graduate of West Texas State University and served in the U. S. Army in Nuremberg, Germany.
He married Wanda Springstube in Amarillo on May 13, 1952. Together they raised two children while owning several businesses in Amarillo.
Dowel was also a member of the Amarillo West Rotary Club and past president, as well as a member of Paramount Baptist Church.
Dowel was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and his two sisters, Viola Fansler and Dorothy Jane Adams.
He is survived by his daughter, Kendall and husband, Glen, of Amarillo; his son, Steven and wife Cindy, of Dallas; one brother, Roy Adams and wife, Mary, of Ozark, Alabama; and 3 grandchildren.
