Dwight Ubben, age 79 of Amarillo, died August 3, 2013 in Amarillo
Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 6th at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Hillside Church. Rev. Greg Corona will officiate. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Dwight was born on March 20, 1934 in Peabody, Kansas and moved to Amarillo in 1948. He attended Horace Mann Jr High and Amarillo High School. He married the love of his life Charlene Drake in 1950 here in Amarillo. He was the owner and operator of A1 Appliance Service until his retirement in 1996.
The family will receive visitors at the funeral home this evening from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Eleanor Ubben and a sister, Willa Hollingsworth.
Dwight is survived by his wife, Charlene; three daughters, Sharon Carlton and husband Bill of Canyon, Debbie Nichols of Lubbock and Tracy Bauman and husband Chris of Spring, TX; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Reid of Amarillo; a brother Robert Ubben of Tampa, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorial be made to Hospice Care of the Southwest # 3 Care Circle, Amarillo, TX 79124
