Edgar Mills, 87, of Amarillo died December 26, 2014.
Memorial Services will be at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, December 30, 2014 in Polk Street United Methodist Church with Dr. Burt Palmer and Rev. Kevin Deckard officiating. Private family interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Ed was born September 3, 1927, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada to Harry and Helen Mills. He married Mary Esther Brown on August 21, 1949. They moved to Amarillo in 1962. Mr. Mills served as the Executive Director of the YMCA from 1962-1987. They are members of Polk Street United Methodist Church and he attended the Maverick School Class. He spent countless hours working with the WT Buffalo sports club at one time serving as President of the board.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Ann Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Esther, his sons, Stewart Mills and Todd Mills both of Amarillo, 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 PM, Monday, December 29, 2014 at the funeral home.
