Edith was born April 11, 1918 in Olton, Kansas to Fred and Margaret Conover.
She had nine siblings, and she was the “baby”. She met Victor McCaig and they married on June 1, 1946 in Tucumcari, NM. She worked as a bookkeeper until her family came along. She and Victor were blessed with two daughters. She and Victor lived in Amarillo their entire married life. He preceded her in death on November 22, 2004.
Edith has been a resident of Heritage Convalescent Home for two years, and she became part of the Heritage Family. She enjoyed her time there, and the family wishes to express their appreciation for the love they gave to her.
She is also preceded in death by eight siblings, and her beloved grandson Kory Gwyn.
She is survived by her daughters, Strecia McCaig and Lisa Bellar and husband Paul, both of Amarillo; nieces, Nita Johnson and husband Jerry of Amarillo and Judy Martindale of Houston; her nephew Victor Martindale and wife Sandy of Amarillo, along with many other nieces and nephews all over the country.
