Graveside Services will be in Groom Cemetery at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 26th
Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 26, at Park Place Towers Retirement Center, 1300 S. Harrison, with Rev. John Malki, Mrs. Quick’s grandson, officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Maxine was born in Groom, Texas on March 24, 1924 to Sam “Papa” and Mae “Big Momma” Black. She loved to crochet, quilt, cook and paint. She shared her many creations and famous pies with all her loving family and friends. Maxine enjoyed her time at Park Central where she had many
loving friends. Maxine devoted her time and energy to help those in need. On Wednesday and Fridays she could be found at the React Quilting Club. She was a member of Paramount Baptist Church for over thirty years and The Eastern Star. She was a very special mother, grandmother and great grandmother willing to share her opinions with all. She will be missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank Quick; brothers Kenneth Black, and Donnie Black; sister, Jackie Bichsel; and nephew, Greg Black.
Survivors include her daughter Judy Jones and husband Mel of Boys Ranch ; son, Jack Espey and wife Bambi of Los Angeles CA; sister, Sybil Brown of Groom; brothers Doug Black of Amarillo, Hershell Black of Hereford, and Chubby Black of Hereford;; grandchildren Kelli Malki and husband John of San Diego, CA., Todd Jones and wife Erin of Los Gatos, CA., and Heather Navarro and husband Eddie of Camp Pendleton, CA; and seven great-grandchildren; Caregivers Tonya Reck, Karen Bynum and Rene Barnard and many other loving family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to City Church, 205 S. Polk, Amarillo, TX 79101.
