E. Kent Kiker of Amarillo died August 1, 2015 in Amarillo.
Graveside Services will be held at Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon on Tuesday, August 4th at 10:00 AM. The Rev. Perry Hunsaker will officiate. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Kent was born August 13, 1927 in Floydada to Luther and Nanny Kiker. He graduated Floydada High School in 1944 and attended Amarillo College where he was a member of the choir and Beta Delta Gamma Fraternity. Kent was employed by Diamond Shamrock from 1944 until his retirement in 1983. In 1945, he was called to service by the United States Army and served until 1946.
He married the lovely Audrey Morgan in La Junta, Colorado in 1950. They were married for fifty one years at the time of her death in 2001. After his retirement from Shamrock Kent worked for McCormick Advertising selling advertising specialties until he formed his own business Southwest Sales Promotions in 1986. In 1997 he sold the company and formed Kiker Enterprises, retiring in 2006.
Kent was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, the Advertising Club, the Knife & Fork Club, Toastmasters and was very involved in numerous committees at church.
The family will receive guest at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 PM until 7PM.
He was preceded in death by his sister Carolyn Barrett of Fresno, CA and by his wife Audrey.
Kent is survived by his daughter Cyndi Norris and her husband Michael of Canyon; his sister Naomi Wyckoff of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Jennifer Westbrook and her husband Chris and Jordan Norris; two great grandchildren, Audrey and Austin all of Canyon; and by loving friends Raenell McDonough and her son Brian.
