Eleobardo "Ellie" Martinez

Eleobardo Martinez, 70, of Amarillo died February 2, 2014.

Rosary will be said at 7:00 PM, Thursday, February 6, 2014 in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 7, 2014 in Blessed Sacrament Church with Rev. Haider Quintero as celebrant. Interment will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.

Eleobardo was born January 2, 1944 in Amarillo to Raul and Genoveva Martinez. He graduated from Caprock High School.  On June 20, 1980, he married the love of his life, Maria Belen at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. They were members at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Eleobardo worked for the railroad for twenty years and later worked for Levi Strauss for another ten years.  He was a hard worker and a good provider for his family.

Eleobardo was preceded in death by his parents, Raul and Genoveva Martinez, a step-son, Richard Purcell, a daughter, Marisol Martinez, a son, Carlos Martinez, a brother, Raul Martinez, Jr., and a sister, Rosie Harp.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Belen; his daughter, Michelle Martinez of Amarillo; six sons, Armando Martinez, Eddie Martinez, Dominque Martinez, Shannon Martinez, Fabian Joel Martinez and Oscar Marquez; two brothers, Silverio “Chevy” Martinez and wife Victoria, and Ruben Martinez both of Amarillo; three sisters, Ophelia “Ofee” Reyes and friend Alex, Luz Reyes and husband Gil, Gracie Paredes and husband Tommy all of Amarillo and Delia Gonzalez and husband Paz of Tulia; his uncle, Manuel Martinez and wife Eric and his aunt, Livrada Tenorio, numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
