Elizabeth “Peanuts” Baker, 93, of Amarillo died February 3, 2013.
Funeral Service will be at 1:00PM, Wednesday, February 6, 2013 in First Baptist Church in Claude, Texas with Dick Gravley officiating. Interment will be in Claude Cemetery, Claude, Texas.
Elizabeth was born May 16, 1919 in Claude, Texas to Neal and Lizzy Collins, a pioneer family of Armstrong County. She married Clem Benton Baker in August of 1935. Elizabeth was a member of the Order of The Eastern Star #760 where she was an organist. Peanuts as many people knew her, enjoyed spending time with her family and going to church. She was a member at First Baptist Church of Claude. Elizabeth retired from the USDA Branch ASCS. She also a past president of the Claude Business Club. Later, Elizabeth married Orville Bennett.
She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and both of her husbands.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Baker Thomas and husband Prentice of Canyon, a son, Richard Daniel Baker of Amarillo, her nieces, Imogene, Lou Jean, and Elizabeth Rae, a nephew Horace Neal, Two Grandchildren, and four Grandchildren.
