Elizabeth Lovene Gregory Seay was born on June 2, 1935, in Roswell, New Mexico, as they were passing through to California to Cordas Oren and Reba Goldie Gregory. Elizabeth lived in California until her dad passed away, then moved back to Roswell. Roswell was where her mother met, fell in love with, and married Fox Love Raney.
After high school, Elizabeth married the love of her life Dolphus (Doc) Elwood Seay. Doc was in the Air Force, and he and Elizabeth lived all over the United States and in Germany during his 20-plus years in Service to his Country. Everywhere they lived, they would adopt a family into their own to love and care for. When Doc retired, they lived in Dover, Delaware. When Doc passed away on July 26, 2006, Elizabeth moved to Amarillo, TX, to be closer to her sister. She lived in Amarillo until she made her final and most important move to her heavenly home. “Finally at Peace with Jesus”
She will be buried with her late husband at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
She was a loving, giving, beautiful woman who loved helping others. She cooked meals for those who needed them and served her community by visiting those that were shut in.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dolphus Elwood Seay, her son, Michael Anthony Seay, and her sisters, Goldie Alma Gregory and Edith Bernice Lovell-Kiihn.
Elizabeth is survived by her sister Helen Gregory Miller, many nieces and nephews, Doc’s family, friends Tracey and Anita Atkins, and many many more “adopted families.”
